The Girl Scouts of Northern California (GSNorCal) announces the departure of its Chief Executive Officer, Bri Seoane, after two years of service. During her time with us, Bri helped the organization achieve key milestones, particularly in advancing our core mission of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging. We are grateful for Bri’s dedication and leadership, and we wish her the very best in her future endeavors.
While leadership changes can be unexpected, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for our staff, volunteers, members, and partners. To guide us through this transition, we are fortunate to have a well-established succession plan in place. Mary-Jane Strom, a trusted leader at GSNorCal, has graciously accepted the role of Interim CEO.
Mary-Jane is no stranger to the Girl Scout movement. As a lifelong Girl Scout and Gold Award recipient, she has dedicated the majority of her professional career to Girl Scout councils, and for the past seven years, she has played a pivotal role at GSNorCal. Mary-Jane has overseen our membership, outdoor programs, and more, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the Girl Scout mission. We are confident that under her leadership, GSNorCal will continue to thrive.
We remain focused on our mission: to bring the life-changing experience of Girl Scouts to more girls and gender-expansive youth across Northern California. Though change can be challenging, we are well-positioned to continue providing innovative and enriching opportunities for every Girl Scout in our council.
As Sandy Shirai, Board Chair of GSNorCal, expressed: "On behalf of Girl Scouts of Northern California, the Board, and our entire volunteer community, we would like to thank Bri Seoane for her contributions as CEO. As we move forward, we are grateful that Mary-Jane Strom, a trusted leader at GSNorCal, has accepted the role of Interim CEO. With her extensive experience and unwavering commitment to Girl Scouts, we are confident that Mary-Jane is well-prepared to lead us through this transition and continue advancing our mission."
We will continue to keep you updated as the leadership transition progresses, and we thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to Girl Scouts of Northern California.
