Together, we can foster growth, abundance, and nurture the potential within every girl.
The Opportunity Fund is a vital source of support that enables Girl Scouts and their families to fully participate in the Girl Scout experience—no matter their financial circumstances or life situation.
For many Girl Scouts, camp is where adventure begins—the first time they sleep under the stars, conquer a ropes course, or discover their leadership potential. It’s where they gain independence, resilience, and a lifelong love of the outdoors.
But for too many families, camp feels out of reach. Financial barriers, lack of gear, transportation challenges, and unfamiliarity with camp can make it difficult for girls to attend.
Your gift creates a path to camp—covering camperships, transportation, gear, and outreach to ensure more families can say "yes" to camp.
Examples include:
Financial aid to help with camp fees
Transportation assistance and gear essentials likes clothes, toiletries, and equipment
Paperwork support and free pre-camp health screenings
Family Camp and pre-camp picnics to build trust and comfort around overnight camp
In communities facing multiple barriers, Girl Scouts of Northern California places staff members to lead troops in after-school settings—bringing the essential Girl Scout experience to girls who might not otherwise have access.
Troops are hosted in locations such as:
Agricultural housing communities
Emergency shelters
Juvenile detention centers
Schools in communities facing economic hardship
