Santa Clara County Giving Circle

Giving Circle members at Camp Hidden Falls event

Launched in 2017, Girl Scouts of Northern California’s first Giving Circle Chapter is a network of Girl Scout alums and friends, who share a passion in making Girl Scouts accessible to girls from low-income communities in Santa Clara County, by pooling membership donations and awarding grants to Girl Scouts of Northern California’s programs and projects that build girls of courage, confidence, and character.

In seven years, Santa Clara’s Giving Circle has awarded $280,000 in grants to Girl Scout programs that enabled girls from low-income communities in Santa Clara to gain leadership, knowledge, and life skills. They have also supported the upgrade of the camp infrastructure at Hidden Falls, so more girls can experience outdoor adventure.

Meeting four times a year plus an informal celebration, Giving Circle members receive council updates, have an opportunity to volunteer, learn about girl programming, vote and award grants to council-specific Girl Scouts of Northern California’s programs, and hear how their collective contribution is elevating the Girl Scout experience in Santa Clara. Making a difference together!

2023-24 Santa Clara Giving Circle Dates

October 21, 2023, VOLUNTEER meeting: Support us at a local camp property as we volunteer with forest management and help make camp improvements.

November 1, 2023, LEARN meeting: Expand your knowledge of issues facing youth in the Santa Clara community with guest speakers.

March 6, 2024, JOIN meeting: Connect with Giving Circle members as we kick start the year with a council update and grant impact. Register for the event.

May 16, 2024, VOTE meeting: Hear from GSNorCal program staff about grant opportunities and vote on how the Santa Clara pooled funds should be allocated.

June 3, 2024, Outdoor reception: Meet in person with Giving Circle members to connect and celebrate.
