Founded in 2021, Girl Scouts of Northern California’s newest Giving Circle chapter is a network of Girl Scout alums and friends who share a passion for making Girl Scouts more accessible in our area, including to many girls in low-income situations. We pool our donations and award grants to selected GSNorCal programs and projects.
Since its launch, San Mateo Giving Circle has awarded nearly $150,000 in grants: we supported Girl Scout troop programs for girls in East Palo Alto and Redwood City, scholarships for high school girls to attend GSNorCal's 'Lead the Way' leadership conference, capital improvement projects at Camp Butano Creek, Skylark Ranch and Two Sentinels, and support for adult volunteer development.
Our Giving Circle meets four times a year, and offers additional social activities. Members receive Council updates, have opportunities to volunteer, learn about girl programming, vote and award grants to Girl Scouts of Northern California’s programs, and hear how their collective contribution is elevating the Girl Scout experience in our local communities. We make a difference for girls, while connecting with an amazing group of women!
