Whether you're into photography, video, interviewing, journalism, or social media, Media Squad gives you the tools and the platform to create real content that makes an impact.
Media Squad is a team of Girl Scouts levels Junior – Ambassador who create content, cover events, and help share the mission of Girl Scouts with the world. You’ll work on real projects featured on GSNorCal's social media and website, learn professional tools, and collaborate with other creative Girl Scouts.

We meet once a month virtually so that girls from across Northern California can join in. Each meeting focuses on developing creative skills, sharing ideas, and planning new projects.
Outside of meetings, Media Squad members are invited to join special content days and events throughout the year.
The Media Squad program runs from September 2025 – May 2026.
Meet with your fellow Media Squad members once a month, where we’ll work on our projects, hang out, and have fun!
Build your media skills in our monthly meetings, where we’ll cover Social Media Literacy, planning viral videos, how to set-up and frame your shots, how to edit using CapCut, and writing effective captions.
Practice covering a story, sharpen your writing skills, discover how to layout a magazine and articles

It’s your time to shine! Media Squad members have first access to star in professional video shoots where you’ll be the face of Girl Scouts!
With an exclusive Media Squad Press Pass, gain behind the scenes access and cover events just like real journalists! Interview zoo keepers, take court-side footage, and so much more!
Attend in-person filming days where we will look at trending videos, make it Girl Scout-y, and film! We also film exclusive content for special Girl Scout Campaigns!
Attend a tour of a real newsroom, speak to journalists, and learn more about news reporting in the Bay Area.
Must be a registered Girl Scout for the upcoming membership year.
Must be a Junior, Cadette, Senior or Ambassador
Have permission from a parent/guardian to participate and submit a signed media release.
Participate in content planning virtual meetings.
Must be flexible to be called upon for major Girl Scout events.
Camera Confidence: Embrace the limelight and be comfortable sharing your sparkle on camera. Your confidence will inspire others!
Some writing, video, and photography experience with passion for expanding those skills.
Must adhere to content creation and social media guidelines.
