Troop Travel & High Adventure
Troops wanting to plan their own travel opportunities can start the process by taking Extended Troop Travel Training. This is a great opportunity to get prepared and trained on how to start planning for that local, regional, or international trip with your girls and meet a mentor who has taken girls traveling all over the world. Extended Troop Travel training is required of at least one adult for a both domestic and international trips of 3 nights or longer. This adult will help plan with the girls and be present during the trips. Get started by accessing our Volunteer Training Portal now!
EF Tours and Holbrook Travel are travel companies that offer approved Girl Scout travel packages that fall within the Girl Scout guidelines. These packages are great for troops who want to travel internationally using a travel tour format.
Research shows girls who participate in outdoor learning activities experience:
- Better grades

- Lower stress levels
- Increased motivation
- Better attitudes about the environment
- Enhanced communications skills
- Better self-reliance…and more!
Girl Scouts NorCal has more approved vendors than any other council in the US. This means more places to try new activities, like kayaking, white water rafting, ropes courses, skiing (cross country and downhill) and ice skating!
Girl Scouts of Northern California is here to support your troop endeavors to go on adventures and experience the world. In preparation for your trip, please complete the trip or high adventure approval form.
