Did you innovate your troop's cookie sales this year? Invent something new? Solve a problem in your community? Or maybe you helped someone in your family do something more efficiently? You could win a special screening of Pacific Rim Uprising for you and your troop!
In the upcoming film, Pacific Rim Uprising, a young 15-year-old tech-savvy heroine hacker Amara Namani (played by actress Cailee Spaeny) quickly bonds with the lead character (played by John Boyega from Star Wars). She uses her skills in STEM-related areas to build her very own Jaeger robot called ‘Scrapper.’ Cobbled together from spare parts and operated by Amara, Scrapper isn’t the prettiest, but is one tough machine—one created solely by Amara’s skill and imagination.
Tell us how you use science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) to solve a problem in your world, and send your story with an accompanying video or photo by March 15, 2018!
You must be a registered Girl Scout 13+ years of age to win. Click here for official rules and regulations.
- Competing against other members in her council, the Girl Scout with the best STEM problem-solving solution will win a special private screening of Pacific Rim Uprising at their local AMC theater for their troop (this includes: one guest per troop member; small popcorn/beverage for each guest).
- One GRAND PRIZE winner will be selected out of all participating councils to win a trip for two to Los Angeles to attend the Pacific Rim Uprising premiere on March 21 (airfare/accommodations to be provided).
Thank you to our friends at Legendary Entertainment for this exciting opportunity!
