Get Outdoors with the 44th Annual Skills Camporee for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors

Skills Camporee

Exploring the great outdoors is an essential part of the Girl Scout experience. For over 40 years, Girl Scouts of Northern California’s Redwood City Service Unit has hosted their annual Skills Camporee event, providing Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors with the opportunity to develop their camping skills through a little friendly competition.

Thanks to a dedicated team, longtime Girl Scout volunteers Nick Corsano (Committee Chair), Amy Connors (Camporee Director), and 30+ volunteers, this tradition continues to thrive as older girls from across Northern California come together to test their camping know-how. From knot tying to tent pitching, local troops spend a weekend competing in a series of outdoor skill events in hopes of impressing the judges and taking home the title. For Girl Scouts who are unfamiliar with the required outdoor skills, girls can attend Training Day on Saturday, February 11, 2017.

This year, Skills Camporee will take place Friday, April 28 to Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Huddart County Park in Woodside, CA. The event is limited to 24 teams, so gather your team and register as soon as possible to guarantee your spot.

For more information regarding cost, deadlines, and registration, check out the Skills Camporee website. Don’t miss out on this camping weekend packed full of fun challenges, new friends, and the great outdoors.
