The Space Cookies, FRC Team 1868, was founded in 2006 as a partnership between NASA and the Girl Scouts to inspire and prepare the next generation of technology leaders.
Since then, we have grown into an award-winning team, recognized at the local, national, and international level for our competitive robots, extensive outreach, and commitment to teaching every Space Cookie engineering and leadership skills. 100 percent of our alumna have gone on to college, where 95 percent have pursued STEM majors.
Team members participate in a wide range of training workshops, developed and taught by Space Cookies, learning skills from robot design, programming, and fabrication to finance, marketing, and communications.
These skills translate to our success both on and off the FIRST Robotics Competition field. We are a five-time recipient of the Regional Chairman's Award, the highest honor in FRC, and a finalist in the international Zero Robotics programming competition.
Our FRC team is also a Girl Scout troop, and we use our resources as Girl Scouts as a platform to further our goal of extending STEM to girls in our local and national community. And yes, we do sell Girl Scout Cookies! For more information about our outreach within Girl Scouts, see our Outreach and Girl Scout Badges pages.
