Golden Gate Bridging

promote_32

Golden Gate Bridging is the biggest event of the year for Girl Scouts of Northern California. 7,000 girls, both local and out of state, walk across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge as they bridge from Juniors to Cadettes. The bridging is followed by a party on Crissy Field with music, snacks, and fun activity booths.

Participating in this special event is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a great introduction to older girl programs and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

Volunteer Registration

Volunteers are a vital part of Golden Gate Bridging. Volunteers serve in many capacities from supporting event logistics (parking and buses) to cheering on girls on their bridging journey. All volunteers also receive a commemorative patch and pin as well as coffee and lunch during the event. Generally all members of a group or troop are assigned the same area and time. Groups with youth volunteers must have enough adults to meet the Girl Scout travel ratio guideline of 2 adults to 16 girls and 1 adult for each additional 8 girls.

Party Zone Booths

Partner booths make up the bulk of the Golden Gate Bridging Party Zone. Partner booths offer games, crafts, or activities that connect to Girl Scout Badges as well as information on what they offer Girl Scouts. Supplies for the activity are provided by the vendor and must be able to accommodate up to 4,000 girls. Partner booth hosts also receive a commemorative patch and pin as well as complimentary lunch during the event.

We can help our partners hosting booths find an activity that connects to our curriculum. Check out this overview of Cadette level badges. If you would like more information on a specific badge or ideas on activities to offer please contact us.
